Pillars of islam

 The pillars of Islam are the basic rules in Islam that all Muslims should follow. They are the contents that complete the religion and worship of all Muslims. 

The five pillars of Islam are:

1. The shahadah ( Declaration of faith) 

2. Salat ( The five daily prayers or obligatory prayers) 

3. Zakkat (charity or alms giving). 

4. Sawm ( fasting in the month of ramadan) 

5. Hajj(Pilgrimage to Makkah). 

Explaination of the pillars of islam 

A. Shahadah ( Declaration of faith) : the words of the shahadah are as follows " shahadatu an lai'illaha illah wa Ashadu Anna Muhammadur Rasulullah" 

It means " there is no God but Allah and Prophet Muhammad(S.A.W) is his messenger. 

The shahadah is regarded to as the key of Islam. When a disbeliever want to accept Islam the shahadah to be mention followed by others religious activities. 

B. Sallah (obligatory prayers) : praying five times daily is compulsory upon every Muslim to be performed in it actually time according to the teaching of Islam. One must to face the kiblah which is the ka'abah while praying based on the location he find him or her self. 

C. Zakkat ( Charity or alms giving) : - Muslims who Allah has blessed with wealth are to give out 2.5% of their total saving to charity each year. 

D. Sawm ( obligatory fasting) : During the month of ramadan Muslims are to observe the compulsory fasting through out the month of ramadan. The are to abstain from eating, drinking and sexual intercourse from (alfijir) to sun set. 

E. Hajj(pilgrimage to Makkah) :- Muslims should go to Makkah to worship Allah if they have the means. A person does not have to make this pilgrimage if they can not afford to, or there are physically unable to (through they can get some one to go on their behalf). 

Carrying out the five pillars of Islam provides the framework of a Muslim life, and weaves their every day activities and beliefs into a single cloth of religious devotion, no matter how sincerity a person may believe, Islam regards it as pointless to live life without putting that faith into action action and practice.
